Health and Safety
The construction industry has made great strides in recent years to change the reputation it once had as a dangerous working environment. Whilst risks still remain, the work of such bodies as the Health and Safety Executive and the Construction Industry Training Board has lead to a dramatic rise in safety standards.
Hambling Construction, is very proud of its record, going to great lengths to ensure the safety of operatives and site visitors alike:
- We employ the services of outside contractor Drury PSM Ltd, who provide professional health and safety advice to us through a dedicated 24 hour phone advice line. Drury also assisted us in formulating our comprehensive Health and Safety Policy.
- We are members of both CHAS (Construction Health and Safety) and Constructionline. Both accreditations require a thorough audit of our health and safety procedures and policies annually.
- We hold membership of Preston Construction Safety Group. The Group carries out random unannounced audits of all our work sites to ensure that our management and operatives are complying with the strict health and safety procedures we have in place.
- All Site Foremen/Managers hold a 5-day CITB SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme) Certificate and a 4-day First Aid Certificate.
